Bromham welcome Prince of Wales award judges
Today was a landmark morning for the Bromham Community Hub as we officially welcomed the judging panel for the prestigious Prince of Wales Award.
As a shortlisted finalist, the Hub was a hive of activity when the representatives from the Duchy of Cornwall and the Royal Bath & West Society arrived at 11:00 AM. The Chair of the Bromham Community Hub CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) Sue Wilkinson, and the Chairman of the Hub Management Committee Richard Dyke, alongside our dedicated trustees and committee members, led the judges on a tour of the facilities to show exactly what makes our project so special.
Community Spirit in Action
The judges didn't just see a building; they saw a living, breathing community. After a short presentation on the history of the Hub and the benefits to our community they were taken on individual tours of the site by various small groups of volunteers and committee members.
The judges were treated to an in-depth, personalised tour of the Hub, exploring everything from the North Hall and the 'Owl in the Hub' café to the outside terrace and sponsored pavers. The visit also took in the South Hall and our landscaped seating areas, providing the panel with a comprehensive look at our new facilities.
It was a pleasure to show the judges a Hub in full swing, with villagers enjoying coffee and breakfast alongside the Bromham Amblers returning from their weekly walk and members of the Wednesday Club gathering for their regular get-together.
What Happens Next?
Now that the judging visit is complete, the wait begins! The final results will be announced at the opening ceremony of the Royal Bath & West Show in Shepton Mallet on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
A huge thank you to everyone who came down this morning to support us. Whether we take home the top prize or not, seeing the Hub so full of life today reminded us all why this project matters so much to Bromham.
The Prince of Wales Award is for Organisations and Initiatives run by the Community for the Community, and is Supported by The Duchy of Cornwall with the Royal Bath and West of England Society.
