£10,000 grant from the Hills Group Ltd

The Trustees of Bromham Community Hub are today celebrating the news that Bromham Community Hub has received a £10,000 funding boost from the Hills Group Ltd.

The money has been made available through the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF) which is administered for Hills by Community First, the Rural Community Council for Wiltshire.

“We are delighted to have been awarded this grant from the Landfill Communities Fund and it will contribute to the complete of the landscaping around the new Bromham Community Hub building. The hard and soft landscaping works are to be installed using volunteers from the village under professional volunteer leadership. The valuable funds from The Hills Group will be used to buy the materials necessary to complete the landscaping scheme to the requirements approved within the planning permission.”, said a representative of the Bromham Community Hub Trustees.

National Grid Grant Awarded

November also welcomed the terrific news that we have been successful in our bid to the National Grid, and we have been granted £20,000 specifically to complete the kitchen and the bar/cafe servery areas.

Having initially taken this out of the contract with Rigg to keep our costs within the budget, we can now put this work back in. This means the ventilation, the electrical supplies and data provision for tills and all the other services, can be properly designed with the rest of the building and installed efficiently at the right time in the construction process. This design work for services needs to be started now - so this is very timely. We can now move ahead with more discussions with Rigg over the kitchen details.

Our fundraising challenge continues with three workstreams now hard at work on the external works and the landscaping, the technology such as Wi-Fi and audio visual as well as purchasing the furniture, fixtures and fittings needed to host village events, organisations and activities.

If you haven’t already “Bought a Brick” then this is an easy way to donate, and remember if you pay UK income tax, please don’t forget to add Gift Aid and allow us to reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation made by a UK taxpayer.

Time will soon be running out as we must let the contractor know by Christmas how much space to leave for the bricks, so please “Buy a Brick” as soon as possible.
