Royal Recognition: The Hub and the Prince of Wales Award

Bromham Community Hub - Prince of Wales Award - Bath and West SHow

There was a real sense of pride at the Annual Parish Meeting held in the Hub last night. Sue Wilkinson shared a thrilling update with the community regarding our progress in the prestigious Prince of Wales Award.

As many of you know, the Bromham Community Hub has been named one of just four shortlisted finalists for this honour. This award isn't just about a building; it’s about how a community comes together to support one another, and being in the final four is a massive achievement for our village.

The Judges' Visit

The evaluation process has been rigorous. Back on April 16th, we welcomed the official judges to the Hub. They spent time exploring our facilities, learning about our various clubs (including the Monday Club, WI, Wednesday Club and many more), and seeing firsthand how The Owl in the Hub has become a central meeting point for residents.

The feedback was incredibly positive, and now, the wait is almost over.

The Grand Final: Bath & West Show

The winner will be officially announced at the Royal Bath & West Show in Shepton Mallet on Thursday, 28th May.

The announcement is set for 10:30 AM, on the Bandstand on the main lawn close to the Council Marquee, and we would love to have a "Bromham Contingent" in the crowd to represent the Hub. The Prince of Wales Award will be presented during the opening ceremony alongside other awards and the event should conclude by 11.30.

It’s a wonderful day out for the whole family, featuring the very best of West Country farming, food, and rural life.

Join the "Hub Party" – Sorting Lifts

We want to make it as easy as possible for parishioners to attend the ceremony:

  • Tickets: Please note that you will need to purchase your own entry tickets for the showground. You can find all the ticket information on the Bath & West Society website and tickets can be purchased from Bath and West Tickets.

  • Lift-Sharing: To help everyone get there, we are looking to coordinate lifts from the village.

Can you help? If you are planning to drive and have a spare seat, or if you would love to go but need a lift, please leave a comment on this post or contact us directly.

Let's head to Shepton Mallet on the 28th and show the judges exactly why Bromham is so special!
