Hub Secures £18,970 National Grid Community Grant!

Bromham Community Hub - National Grid

We are thrilled to announce that the Bromham Community Hub has been awarded a major £18,970 grant through National Grid’s Community Grant Programme, administered by LocalGiving!

Exactly five years after the fire in 2021, this funding represents the final chapter in our reconstruction journey, allowing us to fully complete the new Hub building just in time for our first anniversary.

🔊 What Will the Grant Fund?

The NGET Community Grant is specifically allocated to complete three crucial site upgrades:

1. Acoustic Soundproofing (Echo Reduction)

We are installing 30 white, sound-absorbing acoustic panels up high across our three main indoor spaces. For many in our community, room reverberation and echo make hearing conversations difficult. Resolving this sound issue will ensure the Hub is completely welcoming and accessible to everyone, even when the halls are buzzing and busy!

2. Site Completion & Storage:

We are completing our planning requirements by installing a covered roof over our bike racks, finishing the secure bin compound, and adding a secure storage shed to solve our equipment storage needs. This should resolve any fly-tipping issues and give us much more storage.

3. Smart Fob Security System:

Replacing traditional internal door keys with a modern, flexible fob access system. This enhances security, allows flexible access rights for community groups and cleaners, and avoids costly lock changes if keys go missing! We can  individualise fob access rights throughout the building with access to the cleaners cupboard to Monday Club but not to the office, or access to the mezzanine storage but not the cafe kitchen and so on.

This funding marks a huge moment for the Bromham Community Hub, taking us across the finish line of a 5-year community effort.

A massive thank you to National Grid Electricity Transmission and LocalGiving for supporting our vision!
